I found a 1960 version polish AK-47 with a milled receiver at a local gun shop for 695.00, just curious how badly do you guys think id be getting ripped off if I buy this? It is in great condition.

Even though I am not a AK person I know that the milled receivers are much better than the stamped ones. I don't know much about the Polish aks however. Do you know what the brand name was?

Does the gun shop have a shooting range? Maybe you could at least shoot it before you buy it...

I don't know much about AK's... You might try Googling "Polish AK47 Price" I found lots of info...

I'm currently running 2, 1960 Polish Milled Receiver Models. Both guns run very well. The milled receiver guns are becoming harder to find at a decent price. One thing I like over my Stamped receiver models is the solidness the magazines lock into place with almost no wobble at all. Mine have solid wood furniture, but many now are avaliable with laminated stocks. One nice thing I found with the Polish milled models is they all seem to have very straight front sights. I didn't see any with canted front sights like you do on many of the Romanian models. $695.00 is a bit high. J&G Sales up in Prescott, Arizona has them for $589.95. They currently show them backordered, but they get them in quite regularly. Bill T.

I'm noticing that as well. They are also getting much harder to come by. The only Polish AK's I'm seeing now are the underfolders, and very few, if any milled receiver models. Another thing that has suddenly dried up are the Yugo underfolder models. J&G Sales hasn't had them in close to a year now. The only place I've seen them recently is Classic Arms, and they want $800.00 a piece for them. Scroll not quite 2/3rds of the way down the page.

From what I understand they made 2000 of them,
In conjunction with getting that many 1960 model
Parts kits from Poland.... There is no more. That is why $800
Is the norm now. Century Arms International is selling full auto
Polish 1960 models to govt agencies pretty cheap.. They are just as they came
From the polish govt- original receiver and all $300!
