I am a revolver guy at heart and I just picked up a Glock 19 Gen 4. Feels great in the hand. I am going to take it to the range for the first time tomorrow. Anyway way doing some reading tonight I came across the NY1 (green) and Ny2 (orange) trigger spring kits. since I have been shooting revolvers since time began, I wonder if this would not be a logical addition. It may be more familar to me. I was honestly suprised at how "light" the trigger felt on the 19 the first time I dry fired it.

Anyway how hard is it to install? What are the steps? If I do it myself do I void my warranty? I am not a gunssmith by any means, but I am not a complete idiot either.

Any help would be much appricated

They aren't difficult to install... You will need to detail strip your Glock to install it though...

I wouldn't think it would void your warranty - it's a Glock part... You might want to call Glock to make sure...

Here is how i install anything on a Glock except for a Grip Plug which I can actually do myself.
"Hello Mr Gunsmith can you install this for me"? ;}

If you can detail strip your glock you can install the NY1. Just remove the stock coil spring and substitute the NY1. It snaps in place. Hard to do it wrong. I does not void the warranty.

here is a video that will help you ..
That video makes the statement that Glock says that the only way to use the 3.5# (or 4.5#, take your pick, same part) connector is with the NY1 (Olive) Trigger Spring. I believe that is not correct information.

Here is the trigger pull chart from the current Glock Armorer's Manual (© 2009), that clearly shows the NY1 (olive-colored) trigger spring used in combination with either the standard or "-" marked connector. It also shows the "-" marked connector in the configuration that most of us use it with, the standard trigger spring.

I would also add that the "-" connector is shipped with the standard trigger spring in the G34 and G35, and perhaps other models.

In my Armorer's class this topic was discussed, and I recall no mention of any prohibition on the use of the NY1 (Olive) or NY2 (Orange) trigger springs, other than to say that "A New York spring should never be installed with the 8 lb. (3.5kg) (+ marked) connector."
