I went by my favorite pawn shop today looking for a deal on a pistol. (Imagine that out of me) Anyway, I found one. Of course. Now, the reason this is my favorite Pawn Shop is their Lay-away program. It is 20% down and a minimum of $10 per month for as long as you need to pay off the gun.
Sounds good right? Found out today it gets even better. As I was checking out the guy asked me if I was a member of the bonus bucks program. I said, "no" and really wasn't too interested but I am glad I listened to the sales pitch anyway.
Turns out they give me $1 per every $10 I spend for store credit. The program is free to get into and is just a way to promote repeat business. Well, the last time I was in there I bought a Glock 36. I had no idea but apparently I was enrolled in the program then. I now (between the G36 and my purchase today) have $110 credit for anything at the store. I am going to start doing all my firearms purchases there and let it build up.
I figure as much as I buy anyway it shouldn't take too long I will walk out of there with a free pistol. I even asked if I could or if the program worked like that (looking for the gimmick) and I can! Woo Hoo! New favorite dealer!
