in a 30 and the 30sf?

The SF has a shorter frame. Thats what the "SF" stands for. The grip is a few mm's shorter front to back. Makes for a shorter reach to the trigger for smaller handed shooters.
The back of the grip is profiled different. The SF curves in a little further and results in a shorter (3mm??) distance to the trigger. Some folks with smaller hands tend to like the SF model a little better.

Edit: Glocky beat me to it!!
the 30 feels good so what would i expect from the sf, my hands aren't real big?
To be honest, when I held both the 30 and the 30SF at my gun shop I didn't really feel any difference. I was considering the SF at first until I started reading Glocky's problems with his. I then changed to the std G30.

I think if the G30 feels good in your hands then that is what I would go with!

A slightly smaller grip diameter. Go try one on for size...we cant tell you anything more than that Im afraid.
thanks everyone
I can tell a big difference in the SF to the standard grip of the G30.Not that one is better than the other but there is quite a difference to me.I do shoot the standard grip more but I like the feel of the SF grip better.
the grip on the SF G30 is 3mm's smaller, front to back.

(SF is on the left)

i tried 'em both at the gun show today and really couldn't feel much difference.

i have VERY small hands, and decided to get the G29 non-SF recently. i shoot it better than my G19. the SF models just have an odd feel to me. it's all personal preference though, many folks prefer the SF frames. i had a G21 SF that i sold, just couldn't shoot it that well due to the odd grip....
I wear an extra large golf glove so my hands are fairly large but my 30 SF feels better than the 30. It's a very subtle feeling and it doesn't feel shorter but for whatever reason, it does feel better to me. I've not shot both, just held them so I can't say whether I can shoot one better than the other. Bottom line is I'm confident with my 30SF, that's what's important.

Thanks for the pick of the mag well Don, thats the most significant size difference I've seen.
I wish they made a 22XSF! I have really small hands. I had to take the Crimson Trace laser grip off the 22. Could not deal with what it did to the grip.
The Crimson trace is for sale, for cheap.
I'm a 9mm guy and I can tell the difference. The G30 is just right, the 30SF felt a little loose. G21 is too big for my short fingers though.
