I just got my second Glock, a G21. It does have the 3.5# connector and came with some adjustable sites. This will mainly be shot at the range, and carried in my truck for whenever/whatever it is needed for. What mods would you guys suggest? I have to do something to it, just can't leave it stock! I'm open to all ideas, but don't want to go too crazy with it. Come on, I know you guys gotta have some good ideas. My G27 will stay in the house, and for now will stay stock( for now anyway).

Personally, I put the GLOCK smooth face triggers in, 3.5# connectors, Ameriglos sights, and extended slide release. That's about it for me.

i`d add on some nightsights , steel guide rod with stock spring , extended slide release , talon grips . itz pretty much a wrap since you already have the trigger job done . i would consider that being totally flipped out .

Keep the ideas coming. What benefits does the steel guide rod offer. I read they also make in titanium I think, just don't know what benefits the steel one will have ivermectin the stock plastic one.

i put a steel wolff recoil assembly in my 10mm with a heavier weight recoil spring in order to reduce frame battering from nuclear loads. i wouldn't make this change to any other caliber glocks, as the stock ones work fine. to each his own though :)

Agreed. I don't like changing things too much from the way they were designed. I don't put bigger wheels on my truck, I don't mod my PS3. I just feel safer that way. Maybe I'm just skeered. :)

well after seein that torture test with a 1000 rounds going through the pistol . 4got which round he was using . but his guide rod ending up melting but still functional. so i look at it if there is a lot of heat comming out that barrel plus you are dealing with a bigger round .heat melts plastic . so why not just add the steelguide rod ? i just do it to do it . and have an ease of mind that i would not being having a problem with later down the road . and if doesn`t work right with the steel guide rod you can always replace it with the plastic. no biggie . and everything i get i would love 2 mod it out . it performs better . lets just say you have a choice between a v6 camaro to ss camaro which 1 are you gonna pick ??? daaam skippy tha ss baby ! right ???? lol lol lol

that is a fun video to watch. the g19 still continued to shoot flawlessly after the guide rod melted out of the front of the slide :)

thing is, not many will push their firearms to that extent. they fired 1,000 continuous rounds non-stop through it.

i agree . but depends how long you are the range and how much ammo is going through it each time you take her out for funtime . i usually hit the range like 2-3 times a month and each session i`m letting off 250 rounds . do the math . lol lol that plastic guide rod is really taking a beating . lol lol plus i like to rapid fire on the last 10 minutes i have at the range . and i usually bring like 4-6 magazines . by the time i`m done . my glock looks like its been dipped in a bag of powder doughnuts . so yeah that is why i use the steel guiderod .

Do you think this GLOCK has a steel guide rod?

i`m guessing no . lol lol lol but isn`t a glock21 produces more heat then the glock17 ? i`m guessing yes on that .

but let`s just say ummmmmmm ...... your not willing to have 1 of these which is mod out but you would rather have a stock version ???? diffrent strokes for diffrent folks . ohh yeah , i love chevy`s also . lol lol lol but on the real note i myself like to have a steel guide rod rather then plastic . does the steel guide rod prevents the gun from performing ? no .
does the steelguide rod causes ftf or fte ? no
from what i have in mines .only issue i had with my glocks was a magazine issue on my glock23 thats it .

doubtful. a true torture test of a firearm would need to include it's factory components. the gen1 g17 at the glock factory in austria that's had 328,000 hirtenberger rounds through it has the the stock rod.

glock's improved the heat resistance of the newer polymer guide rods since the time frame that video was shot. they have new part numbers. anyone can call glock and verify. it's really a non issue, as firing that many consecutive rounds through any gun can cause issues.

Let me start off by saying that I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do with their gun. I am just trying to provide another side of the argument (discussion in this case)

In my opinion, if GLOCKs needs a steel guide rod, GLOCK would have made them. While I do swap out certain parts of my GLOCKs such as sights, mag releases, slide stops, etc.. I try not to mess with the basic design of the firearm. In my opinion, changing the standard guide rod out for a steel one is making a major change to the basic function of the GLOCK. Again, only because if it was necessary, GLOCK would have made one. :)
