I inventoried the ammo cabinet. I try to maintain a minimum of 1000 rounds of FMJ in 9mm, .45 and 5.56mm, 100 rounds each of 12 gauge 00 Buck and slugs, plus a decent quantity of each pistol caliber in a a JHP configuration.

I'm new to the forum...so someone fill me in on what I'm not prepared for!? Do I need to go buy a tandom truck of rice and start digging on my bomb shelter? Who's coming? I'm going to go turn on the tv right now.
And as far as Zombie killing (that was funny Law)...but how do you kill a zombie? Those movies are confusing... Some use guns to shoot anywhere, while others show that you must cut off head... Not that I'd put my guns down, just need to know if I need to go buy a sword and work on my ninja skills..??

After the events in Japan this past month, the wife and I were talking about needing to set aside some emergency supplies. Unbeknown to her I had already picked up a few items, BOB, and a load bearing belt with pouches, a firesteel.
We made a list and have started gathering supplies. I picked up a water purification kit and some sterno, waterproof matches, a couple of more spare flashlights, a bundle of paracord. The goal is to get it all stored in bins we can throw in the truck if we need to bug out, or at least have it all organised in case we have a major storm/loss of power and need to stay put.
It will take a little time, to get everything on the list. I can't afford to divert to much of my spending to the gear, but plan on doing a little every month.
I have small cache of ammo and will be picking up some more.
