Using GSSF certificate to get a Gen 4 Glock 23?

I have a GSSF certificate for a free Glock for a first place finish from a match. I have been kind of unsure about what to get with it. I was thinking about getting a G4 G26 with it. But the more I think about it.......I think I am going to get a G4 G23. I for one love the G4s. I don't know what everyone else is complaining about I have not had any problems with any of mine. So what ever I decide on will be a G4.

I guess I am looking for some input from anyone that has the G4 G23. What do you think of yours. I am not wanting someone to try to talk me into or out of anything as I have for the most part decided on what I want. The G4 G26 will come about later. Just looking for opinions on the G4 G23s.

I would hold off a little and get a Gen. 4 Model 38 in .45gap. They should be out soon.
Same size and start reloading.
Very good shooter.

NO. Absolutely not. Thanks but no thanks. Not a GAP person at all. My opinion of the GAP is not the one shared by a few members here. I don't bad mouth it because there is no point to argue about something someone else likes, and it works for them. But, it is not for me.
Well I'm rather new to Glocks, and handguns in general so don't weigh too heavily on my input. Before deciding to buy my 4th gen G23, I tested a G26 and a G33. I have fairly large hands, and did not like the G26 at all. It had the pinky extender (don't know the actual term), but I could not shoot very consistently with it. Overall, it just felt uncomfortable.

I liked the G33, but decided against it because it seems 357 sig ammo is a little tougher to find.

So I tested the G23 and loved it. Compact enough to easily conceal both in the waist, and on the hip. But large enough to feel comfortable in my hands, and felt great shooting it. Like I said, I'm still an amateur, but the shooting instructor said I was grouping very well. All in all, I'm very happy with my decision and can't wait to get back to the range

Good for you Alan glad to hear it
SF is going to make a new years resolution to own a 45 GAP GLOCK. :)
I personally love my Gen 4 G23. Has TFO sights and a -1 trigger bar. Shoots like a dream and easily concealed. Like you I have no probs with Gen 4, they fit my hand well. I may consider after market captured spring for it later, but all in all I am totally satisfied.

Never. No way. I don't share the enthusiasm.
being a 1 glock owner I won't be able to help with suggestions but--

congrats on your first place finish! tell us about the match -- you knew I'd be one to ask :)

Can't give you any input on the Gen4/23, but totally agree with you on "loving the G4". When I buy the next Glock it will be a Gen 4, but definitely not a G38 GAP! Everyone did not read your entire post! :)
I'll be of no help. I don't like .40s&w. I would have voted for the Gen4 G26.

You're no help either way. You win too many guns from GLOCK. :)
Just thought I would update if anyone really cares. I did finally decide on the 23. Sent off the stuff and it came in yesterday. I am very happy with it. Oh, by the way, I already bought a G4 G26 also while I was waiting on the G23. Ooops. Silly me

Cool... At least you finally got it...

How do you like your 4th gen Glock 26? I've been thinking about getting one of them... I've held them in my hand, but never shot one... Worrying about holding on to it...

I have a Gen 23 and love it. Great shooting gun right out of the box, if the Gen 4 can do the some then enough said. My thinking would be if Glock is buying the gun for you because of your win why not go Glock 34 or 35.
You can't buy one of the G34s, G35s, etc on the GLOCK certificate without coming out of pocket. The certificates only cover the standard models. The G34 for example is approx. $100.00 out of pocket with a certificate.
Good choice for not going with the GAP

I like it a lot. I have no problems holding onto it or anything like that. Plus I am as accurate maybe even more so than I am with some of the others with it.

The GAP was NEVER a option. Not even in the running.
