the 19C

Had been thinking that I would pick up a 19C should I ever get another GSSF certificate thinking that I would shoot it in GSSF Competition division and at the GMTSC (local "tactical" match). Today I got the chance to shoot TheLaw's 19C, and I could tell some difference but not a lot.

Will probably end up going with a 39 or another standard 19 instead.

You only posted this because I just sent you an e-mail stating my free pistol cert came today and I have decided to get a G19C with it ... this week. lol.

That's funny, but I haven't gotten the email yet. Based on shooting the 18C, I was expecting much more difference that there actually was even though the porting is different.

You should shoot TheLaw's prior to ordering one.

Which is funny because I've shot G19C and G23C before (I think) and didn't think there was much difference. I didn't expect much diff out of that G34 ported bbl we shot last weekend but was surprised.

I bet the GSSF folks would go nuts over a 17 with the cutout and porting like on the 18.
I shot my 19c back to back with my standard 19 today. I had not had a chance to do this prior because my 19 was a Gen 4, but I traded GunNut and had apples to apples to compare. I thought there was noticeable difference in the recoil. Taking into consideration that the G19 is 100% stock and the 19c has had a few items added, 100s of "rounds" of dry fire and a 3.5# connector installed with a smooth trigger, I thought I it was clearly a lighter shooter.

It was a lighter recoil, but I guess I had it in my head that it would be along the lines of the 18C compared to the 17.

Detail stripped it down tonight to clean it. Weird rubbing on the barrel. Going to show you guys next time I get with you but I know I can't have the first one to do this. There is a spot on the slide, directly between the ports, and a matching rough area on the barrel directly between the ports.
