When grabbing a 6 or 12 pack at the bar, are you expected to tip them? I used to but haven't lately since its already more $ than at a distributor..

IM pretty sure in michigan they are prohibited from selling alcohol to be taken off the premises. but if they could i dont think id tip. Do you tip the check out lady at the liquor store?
I've always thought tipping was for good service...

If you have drinks with a waitress/bartender, leave a tip...

If you buy a six pack and walk out the door, no tip...
I've always thought since you're buying it from a bartender.. they're going to expect a tip..

It IS lawful in Michigan for a bar to sell alcohol, it depends on which type license you the bar has. I used to do it often about 20 years ago when we would take the kids on vacation to northern Michigan during the good ole summer time. We had a lot of fun.
And yes, I always tipped the bartender because they're doing some thing for you, no different than ordering a drink. JMO
hmmm good to know all the bars i used to work at always said it was illegal.

This would be my outlook on it.
