So theres a cop chasing a truck involved in a bank robbery... that Jon Buenell (sp?) guy is narrating as usual and the cop tries to PIT the truck... The cop fails badly and John B says something like, "The officer tries the PIT maneuver but his cruiser is no match for the MASSIVE truck." It was a Ford Ranger. COPS fail.

I think you are watching one of those cheesy WILDEST POLICE CHASES ... not COPS. I am a COPS super-fan but those WILDEST shows make me a nervous wreck with the fast moving clips, the cheesy narratives, and the replays (over and over and over).

That is a FAIL though ...Rangers are hardly massive ... and should barely be considered a truck at all (says the guy that drives a Toyota).

yeah yur right it wasnt cops... and I love my Yoda
I'm with you on COPS. Record all the episodes on all the different channels it comes on. This way I get the really old ones, and the new one, etc..

Those other shows, I can't watch them for all the reasons Vol mentioned.
That narrator on those Wildest Police Chase shows is an idiot.....

And he was a Sherrif, but still calls himself one even though he is retired. Oh and he calls Ford Rangers MASSIVE trucks too..lol.

Well........a Sheriff.....at least around here......is an elected official.......so smarts ain't a requirement.....
I used to watch and enjoy all those shows. Now, I usually try not to think about all that crap unless I am actually at work. Trying hard to make it to the 20 year mark without burning out too badly.

He was never elected as Sheriff. He was appointed to fill out a term and was in office for seven months. He was a lieutenant prior to being appointed as Sheriff.

It is customary within the profession to refer to retired peace officers by the last rank they held although the retired designation is usually added.

Those shows are just that: show business.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to watch those shows, but LEOs get all the in car footage to watch. :)
cops is a good show but that new show "steven seagul lawman" is better. its kinda cheesy some times but he won me over when he responded to a call where an older guy shot another guy in self defense and he never even took him in.. he decided what was right then and there... cops these days lock up anyone wether its self defense or not and let the jury decide more often then not.

I too have been sucked in to this show. HOwever, keep in mind SS in every other episode has acted like citizens with guns are the devil. Last season they raked two guys over the coals because they were sitting in their car outside their house and had a gun in the car ... and the guy had a license. He's a drama llama.

oh really thats lame. the only two episodes ive seen are that one with the old man and the one where he pulls over a guy who was 20 and had a loaded handgun and he let him go but took his gun. he was just a couple months shy of 21 so he was leinant. in CA if im 20 or 200 and had a loaded handgun im getting locked up for some thing. lol... ive been in handcuffs for doing 100% legal things. so i like to see when theres still some america left in other states.
I can't stand John Bunnell. I had a roommate once that would watch it in the living room with all his friends, and knowing I hated the show they would leave it turned on if they left. Part of the reason I canceled the cable tv.

yeah i think his name is john bannel or something. his voice is annoying.

i've seen him on some old episodes of cops from years ago. (he was still annoying back then, and was probably made fun of by his co-workers when not present)
I can't understand why all the guilty people allow the film crew to take video of them. I mean, most of them look like idiots...
we should get the cops camera crew to follow jlweems around, and show him arresting people while wearing a glock.pro shirt & hat lol

I have always wondered that myself......

Because most criminals are idiots.
