Short review of new LWD Timber Wolf frame

A couple of things I'd like to see....

a stronger mag release spring
a trimmed down trigger housing pin (could modify my own, no biggie)
a more positive method of backstrap retention, had it unseat itself during a mag change. Will try the foam tape idea.

Range session today consisted of 500 rounds of Winchester White Box 115gr.
Bag partially empty, 30 rounds of 5.56 mixed in bag from where I had emptied an AR mag.

0 stoppages, 0 failures, 500 flawless rounds down range.

Started off on the 50 yard range since it was empty. Sent 100 rounds down range into the backstop for function.

Next moved to the 25 yard range dug a used target out of the garbage can so that I had something to shoot at besides a piece of 4 x 8 particle board.
Shot that up, and pulled out a paper plate and proceeded to fill it full of holes.

Showed off the Timber Wolf framed GLOCK 17 to a few guys who showed up at the 25 yrd range. They weren't familiar with GLOCKs but liked it.

Had one mag left to shoot when another guy showed up and asked what I was shooting and he showed me his new FN 5.7 pistol. It still had the tags on it. He went back to his bench and took the tags off, loaded a mag, stood up to shoot and FLINCH, click. He fumbled around a bit and sat down, pulled the mag out, racked the slide, picked up the cartridge. You could tell he wasn't familiar with it at all. I shot my last mag and left.

As I was leaving the first guy I had talked to said "you sure dug a nice hole in the dirt behind the target".

Next session will try my 34 slide and LWD slide.

That looks pretty nice. So I take it you'd consider that as a viable replacement if you had a busted factory frame. How does it feel in the hand compared to a factory frame?
If I had a "busted" factory frame I'd have GLOCK replace it. :D

If you like your GLOCK, but the frame is too "big" for you I'd take a hard look at this Timber Wolf frame. If you like to build your own "GLOCK" you could get everything right from LWD.

I did this project because I have a dozen GLOCKs and wanted something different, but still a GLOCK :p

There are 2 backstraps, a flat and a swelled. With the swelled it feels close to a Springfield XD. With the flat, almost like a 1911.

This is what the Gen 4 frame should have been!
Looks very nice. I was wondering about them and had palnned on getting one until the 4th gens came out. I am spending too much money on those at the moment so everything has to wait now. I do like the looks of the backstrap and how it comes out over the top of the hand to prevent slide bite. I have never had it but I was always wondering when it will happen.

Again, thanks for the write up I will look into them later. I hope they build one for them small frames. I would really like to put one of those on my G26
great looking Glock, glad to hear that it worked flawless for ya.
Nice report... I'm not sure what this is, though...

Is it a performance update to a G17 frame or a whole new Glock clone?

I guess you could call it a performance upgrade

This is Lone Wolf Distributors answer to some common complaints of many would be GLOCk owners. "Don't like the grip angle" "Don't like the hump" "Can't reach the trigger comfortably" "Grip is too fat" ect.

Or by going to Lone Wolf, you can now build your own non glock GLOCK with aftermarket parts and stock parts.

That frame looks sweet. Ive nevr really had any interest in a G17. But I may have to pick one up so I can put a nice frame under it.
