well i think i get the most use out of "chrome to phone". it's free and it allows you to send things from your pc chrome browser to your phone instantly. very cool :)

"dropbox" lets me upload videos to my pc from my phone easily.

handcent is a cool text mssging app that allows pop-up windows when someone sends a mssge to you.

Well just getting started with this Android thing, my favorite would be Scanner Radio Pro which connects to the radio reference .com website and allows the user to listen to police/fire/airline/train (etc..) scanners. I also like the ESPN Score Center that lets you pick your teams from the different sports and it will update you with game times, scores, and stats.

I'm hoping to find other apps and games that I like soon. Good thread now lets get everyone with a Android based phone to post 'em up.
Like I mentioned in another thread, I loaded Note Everything and like it. I upgraded it to Note Everything Pro to get several additional note types. I find the checklist and durable checklist note-types to be pretty useful.

My next app is likely to be Astro File Manager. It's pretty good... used and recommended by a lot of people... free version contains advertisements now... probably go with the pro version if I load it. I've been using Windows Explorer on my PC so far... just need to be close enough to connect with the USB cable.
i just downloaded the go launcher app. it replaces your stock home screens with something that's much more customizable and easy to use. there's no lag or crashing so far. it's rated 5 stars, and it's free. pretty cool stuff.

i've tried a few others, like livehome, panda, home++, and adw. i like this one the best so far, although livehome and adw were good ones too.

i've still yet to pay for an app. there so many great free ones. it's a nice change. i had the iphone for 3+ years, and all the free apps on the apple market really suck lol

try drop box too (the one that advertises on this forum up top). it's great for uploading video to your pc that you film with your phone's video camera :)
Try wifi file explorer, great for transferring from your computer to your phone. It does it over your network.

Looks like a nice app... Thanks for the tip...

Still undecided on a file manager... Using Windows Explorer on a PC works fine... Just have to use a cable...
OK so to all you Droid gurus, I need an app that will let me transfer/copy, duplicate (whatever) my notes in Outlook to my Android phone. I have 30 or so notes in Outlook that I need on the phone. My Blackberry include notes in the sync but the Android only does email and calendar/contacts. Any info would be appreciated.

well i downloaded astro file manager for free that many seem to like, but it's so complex and unintuitive it takes a while to navigate. i think i might try another free one, rather than than getting the pay astro lol

there' a bunch of file managers, just google what you're looking for and you find names of ones to try, that's what i do :)

First thing is what kind of phone do you have? I will check on an app for that but in the mean time you could make an email account just for your android device and just email those notes to your phone.

Notes Everything has the ability to import notes from Outlook.

There's a link to the page that explains the process step by step. I have used Note Everything and like it, but I haven't imported any noted from other sources.

Download the free version of Note Everything and try it...

Do you guys use Plain Talk, or do you use 10 code/signals, etc..? I host the feed for my county and we still use 10 codes. I believe I had a conversation with JL once where I thought I heard him say they were contemplating going to plain talk instead of the codes. I could be wrong.

I use 10 code. 10 code is great for average LE work over the radio, but when the poo hits the fan you'll notice almost everyone goes to plain english.
My previous agency went plain talk, and I prefer it as not everybody uses the same codes/signals, and even among agencies that use the same codes/signals they actually take on different connotations at each agency.
