I'm in the process of filling out my Montana Concealed Weapons permit application. The first two pages were Name, address, are you a criminal and such. But then when I got to the last page, it said:

~In Compleate Detail, Please Explain Your Reasons For Requesting This Permit.
(Attach additional sheet if necessaryCompleate Detail)~

In compleate detail??

Hell, I was just going to write down "Personal Protection" I don't think I need any additional sheets.

What's a good "detailed" reason.

Thanks, Shoot straight!

Errrr, I'd probably skip that suggestion, LOL
I totally agree! "Personal protection, home and family defense" should work and be detailed enough. I have been told that even "scientific research" works when
applying for a Class III permit. North Carolina does not ask for a reason for CCW permit.

I think short and sweet is exactly how you want to state it. I believe if you say too much in your reasons it complicates the matter and risk saying something that could be turned around and thrown back in your face. Personal protection, home/family defense sound detailed enough for me.

Just got back from turning in application. I went with Perssonal Protection as my reason, they took my picture (In which I had bad case of bed head) handed them $50 and they said I would recieve my permit in about 1 week. Just bought a new carry gun, Glock 26. Havent shot er yet but can't wait to.
