So how do the gases get out of the slide.

The result is the same for the most part.I see a lot of people interested in ported barrels and compensated guns.
Does having a ported barrel mean that a pistol is technically compensated? The only thing I can figure out is that the compensated guns look like they have the ports further back on the barrel... maybe that changes the pressure more because the bullet passes the ports sooner?
If the porting is under the slide, the slide will have to have holes in it. Check out Boomer's avatar, or...need to watch this one.

I was originally curious because people were talking about putting a ported barrel in a standard Glock. I thought that would change the recoil system, but apparently it didn't.The result is the same for the most part.
If you want a compensated/ported gun that would be my recommendation.Think I will go with a Glock "C" model
