I've been following this, too...

I'm skipping the camera events. but it's probably a good thing...

I wouldn't open carry, but it would relieve some of the issues with concealed carry... If your gun printed or your shirt blew open for a minute, it wouldn't cause the problems it could cause now...

I personally don't want to advertise that I have a gun, nor do I want to know who else is. JMO.

I live in Florida also and agree with both of you. I would still conceal carry also. I also dont want to know who is carring and what they are carrying. It would be nice to have the option though. Also to not have to worry about the same issues that JB had mentioned. I would vote for open carry if i had my choice.

Ive been following the senate bill on this and so far its not looking good. They have pretty much amended it to the point where no one will even want to open carry. If it were to be finalized right now, heres what it would be.

-You must have a concealed license
-you must have at least a lvl 2 retention holster
-you must have your cwl in a plastic sheet on or near your holster in plain sight
-college carry is out
-leo's are allowed to ask to see your license at any time
-if you conceal carry, there is an accident forgiveness if your firearm "pops out" but you still cannot "print" if you do decide to conceal

Thats all i remember but still!

Geez... That sux... Needing a concealed weapons permit to open carry is crazy... It kinda doesn't make sense...

Flsenate.gov. I cant remember where i saw the pdf of the bill but i watched the meeting live on the 9th while they were supposed to vote on it. Ended up not voting either side but amended the crap out of it.
