I think many other if not all banks should follow the Washington County Bank's lead. Real smart of the bank manager to use the theory of armed citizens as extra added security. I'd do business with them without hesitation if I lived near Chappel Hill, too bad I'm in NM and not TX.

that's awesome! what was the policy previously? the bank president mentioned he changed the sign.....
I am not for sure what he had originally, but I'm guessing the ghostbuster type or the " illegal weapons not allowed" type, which neither type of signs affect a CHL holder. The local bank where I go is where I went and took my CHL class and got my paperwork notarized. Maybe some more banks will fall in line...

Although the bank president tries to make it sound noble during his news interview by citing the 2nd amendment, fact is he's only changing his policy on the subject for selfish reasons: to enhance his personal protection by dissuading robbers after several robberies.

I retract my previous statement, and would only do business with this bank based on financial incentives.

I would do business with them. Still better than seeing the sign at my bank. I walk right by it with my weapon regardless but I still hate to see it

LOL

that's true, the worst they could is ask you to leave if they discover it. it's simply company policy, not the law. :)
They can't bother me as long as I have my ID on me. It goes everywhere with me just like the gun.

that's awesome.

in my state you can't carry where alcohol is served, or a business with a capacity of over 1,000 people (like theaters, sprts stadiums etc...)
Some days it is nice to be a Fed. It goes anywhere and everywhere I go period.

Thats a good deal, glad to hear that someone finally has the huevos to start allowing carry in a bank. Just need to have more like that manager.

oh, i was wondering what you meant by showing your ID. i didn't know you were a Fed. applied for a few Fed LE jobs in the last few months, haven't heard anything yet.
Good luck. If you get in FLETC is ok. With the oil spill I don't know what kind of ocean activities there are available right now. For all I know everything might be going. The shark fishing is fun on the weekends and is a nice break plus a much needed chance to get out off of the training site.
