Hi everyone. I am new to the gun world. I have shot on and off my whole life but just picked up my first gun. I got a Glock 19. I went broke buying it and haven't even been able to take it to the range yet but I am hoping to by the end of the week. Any one know of a good SAFE cheap range in the Miami area? Or is all that too much to ask for down here? I am planning on taking my wife, who has never shot a gun before, with me. She went to the range a couple times with me when I rented a gun, she didn't shoot. She was just unhappy with little kids pointing guns all over the place at the range we were at.

yeah i had that guy point a loaded 1911 at me at the range recently. i'm going to join a private gun club to reduce the likelyhood of that happeneing again. the higher fee reduces the idiot factor considerably.

Just got back from the range. I found a place called Florida Gun Center. It had very good reviews online, it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. http://www.floridagun.com My wife and I went through 200 rounds of Winchester white box. I shot just a few more rounds then she did. She turned out to be a good shot and ended up enjoying it a lot. Hearing "I'd like to do that again" was all I needed. The range was also empty which I think gave her more confidence for firing a gun for the first time. Very good day : )

I think it helps to have the range quiet the first time you take someone shooting... Friend took his wife during what turned out to be a busy range day and she got real jumpy with all the shots being fired...
