BOYNTON BEACH - The man found to be carrying guns while waiting in line for a Black Friday sale said in court this morning that he's a retired federal law enforcement officer.
Boynton Beach police said they arrested Christopher D. Scott, 49, just after midnight today in a checkout line at the Walmart at 3200 Old Boynton Road.
Scott is charged with three counts each of carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Interesting. I'm sure some of our Florida members will chime in but based on my info, a person can lawfully conceal carry with license of course in Florida. I'm wondering what caused the attention of Law Enforcement to notice what he was carrying. I'm wondering if it was the 33 round magazine sticking out of his jacket. LOL  Heck, I didn't even know they were 30 round .40 cal GLOCK magazines. LOL

And why the Three counts of carrying a concealed firearm? They apparently charged him separately for the knives, so I wonder why there were three separate charges.

At first I felt the harsh arrest may have been overkill, and I thought the mention of 30 round mag was a gag, until I read the story. THIRTY ROUND MAG? REALLY?! I don't care if he's a retired Pope. Lock that dumb jerk up! There is NO excuse for that kind of ignorance. What a douchebag!...

I'll bet his "retirement was more like, "Retire (and we'll let you have benefits), or be fired!" I hope he loses his benefits, or at least use the Mental Health benefits. He certainly needs some kind of mental help!

Owning and using a 30 round mag is fine - ONLY at the shooting range! Maybe he was worried about being trampled by the "Black Friday" crowd? "Excuse me folks, trample around me so I can wrestle with this foot-long mag to shoot you!"
Duh.
Please don't misunderstand me. I was poking fun at this jerk for having that massive magazine sticking out! This guy was scary enough with that thing, that most people have never seen before! I don't care how many mags or rounds he wants to carry. It's his wasteline getting squished. If he's into hauling that weight, fine with me! (Maybe he walks around his house in a deep sea divers suit, with the lead belt?)

Like others said, his first mistake was not complying with the local laws. Carrying open, with a baseball bat-sized mag sticking out had to look ridiculous to those that knew what it was, and terrifying to those that thought it to be some kind of machine gun or other mass-killing device!

I was imagining him being trampled by women running for the toy department, and his "boomarang" setup getting stomped into his hand. Trying to lift that rig would be like swinging a bat in a broom closet. Not very effective!;)

Sometimes I have a warped sense of humor. This guy is just warped, and needs to be fined for ignorance, among the other infractions...
