I had a friend recommend this company to me so I thought I would give them a try.

I ordered 2x 1911 mag pouches and 2x GLOCK mag pouches on Thursday of last week. The single pouches were $11.95 each. Shipping was very cheap. My total was $54.80.

The pouches arrived yesterday in a small padded envelope. I was surprised how small the envelope was until I opened it and pulled the pouches out. They are very compact. One could put a good many of these on your belt for a match or in class and not take up much room at all .... and for this price you could actually afford to buy a bunch of them.

I inserted mags in each pouch then gave it a tug to check the retention. I was really pleased with how well they held. I could hold the pouch upside down and shake it without fear the loaded mag would come out.

I only tested on on a belt to see how well it held. I did a few quick, firm grabs of the mag to pull it out of the pouch and it (the pouch) stayed put. I was slightly concerned they might wobble too much or not hold well due to the fact they are all 1.75" by default and I wear a 1.5" belt. No worries there. I think they are fine.

I read a review on another site after placing my order. The reviewer felt they rode a bit lower on the belt than he liked. I see his complaint as they do ride lower than most of the pouches I've tried. Fact is ... I like it riding lower. The mags didn't jab me in the ribs like with other pouches.

This is a very simple design that seems to work. I will continue to use my Dale Fricke horizontal pouches for EDC but these will definitely be used in classes and matches (where legal) as supplements or in place of the doubles I currently use.

Check them out. Tell Brian (the owner) I sent you.

Great. Now write up the other gear!
Patience grasshopper. I am waiting until I can get some pics and for the second shipment to arrive before I start posting too much about it. You've seen most of the advanced copy anyway. I will forward you another e-mail I sent the maker this morning ... a AAR of sorts.

Quick update on this gear. I was in a pistol class yesterday and used two of these pouches. Granted, I wasn't using them as my primaries. I was doing some T&E for another holster maker so I was wearing two of his singles in class. More on that in another thread on another day.

I used these two pouches as back-ups simply so I could carry more mags to the line without loading down my pockets. I wore one at around 8 o'clock and another at 7. My primaries were worn at 9 o'clock and 10. I didn't load my gun from the Kytex pouches. As I would empty my forward, primary pouches I would take a mag from the Kytex pouch to replace it.

The pouches were very stable on the belt. In fact, it took two hands to clip them over my Wilderness Instructors belt and two hands to remove them. I highly recommend these.

The guy on the line next to me was wearing 4 of these as his primaries. They took up no more room than my 2 pouches I was using as primaries. He was equally pleased.

Having not had a chance to out my hands on these from a visit to Vol's house yet, is it a case where the 19 mags go further into the holder than a 26 mag would, or do they both go in the same distance and the 19 mags just stick out further?
Are you asking because he offers them for each model? I haven't asked but suspect he makes them deeper for the longer mags. I meant to ask when I ordered. I have all 3 size mags so just ordered for the G19 and figured they would all work fine, sort of like splitting the difference.

Cool. I'll wait and let you be the guinea pig. :)
Isn't that waht everyone does? lol

GunNut bought a couple of light pouches from him ... one vertical and one horizontal. He can chime in but he is pleased with them.

I put one of each platform in my truck so either of you can see them if we can get lunch scheduled this week.

I should have been more clear when you asked me to compare these to Comp-Tac. I said I like the way they ride better than CT. Specifically, these hold more snug to the body and ride lower (less/no rib gigging).

How would you rate these compared to the comp-tac carriers?
I like the way these ride better than the Comp-Tac and the fact the design is so simple and compact. The Comp-Tac might be more "solid" construction. The Kytex are completely one piece. I'll put them in the truck if I remember so you can see them when we get together for me to get the PSS holster. I like these a lot. They are also less than the half the price of the Comp-Tac and take up much less room on the belt.

Again, I want to run these in a class in a couple of weeks and at the next IDPA match to see if they will stay on the belt well while being tugged on good. If so, they are a definite winner in my book.

No adjustable tension. None needed. Really, I was surprised how well they held. TheLaw .... trying to arrange lunch with jlweems tomorrow. See if you can make it too. I'll bring them if you can. Call me tonight if you can so I put them in the truck.
