Okay, don't everyone laugh at once, but I wanted to get into the 10x25mm game, but did not want to spend a ton on a "decent" first 10mm handgun, soooooooo.....

It is the new Hi Point JXP 10mm. I have never owned or even shot the 10mm Auto, and this 200 dollar gun has gotten great reviews (reliability wise that is), so I bought one. Ordered a second magazine for it from Hi Point, and it was only eighteen dollars.

I want to get to the range as soon as possible, to see it this one runs well. I picked up a few assorted boxes of 10mm ammo, including one box of S&B 180 grain JHP, so we'll see how this tank handles those rounds as well.

This thing is huge, and weighs in at around 43 ounces! Ha ha ha! Maybe, just maybe, if I find that I like the 10mm round, I might invest in a G29....soon!

I will, when I finally get there! Crappy weather! I planned on hitting the range after church, but it has been rain/snow mix, since last night. The conservation club, where I belong, is back in the boon-docks, and all the secondary roads are probably a mess.

Due to work this week, now I'll have to postpone my range visit, until next Saturday! Grrrrr.....I will post a range report though.

Yeah, I'd be hanging onto that one! I saw a 9mm version in a gun store about two months ago, was in pretty decent shape too, but I think they wanted 899$ for it.
Well, took that JXP to the range yesterday, and ran 40 rounds of Blazer 180 grain FMJ, and 20 rounds of S&B 180 grain JHP's, and the old tank ran them 100%! Even with the weight of this pistol (about 44 or so ounces), I was surprised at the recoil of 10mm ammo.

I was shooting left and right handed, from around 30-35 feet. I was going kinda wild at first, then after I started getting used to the sights, trigger, and recoil impulse, I started to group better. Weather didn't help much...20 degrees and breezy...I was freezing, but I got to shoot it.

Both magazines ran fine, although the magazine disconnect on these sucks. Overall, I am happy with this 200$ option...time will tell, but it is at least getting me used to the 10mm Auto cartridge.

I have had a 40 for a few years. I treat it like crap and it’s still like new. It’s a truck gun and a lease gun and works Just fine.
All of the online vendors are now offering the JXP for $199.00, I may have to get one, can never have too many 10 mm or any other caliber ...
Gesture Flame Gas Heat Smoke

Guess I’ll have to be “that guy” and bring Glock into this conversation Before I bought a G29, I had a free rental - this one was filthy and I think we were shooting Wolf or some other Eastern Europe surplus. But it made beautiful fireballs!!!

I own a couple variations of the G20, including a 20c, a 6 inch barrel for the 20 and a G29 which is my “woods” gun.

I also have a G20, have not gotten the opportunity to shoot it yet ..., hell, have not gotten to shoot anything in over a couple of years now.
