how many rounds do you carry. Just what's in the gun or multiple mags. And of course why you feel what you carry is enough.
It must be asked ....

Again it depends. Much like my answers for which gun I carry. It depends on where I am going, what I am doing there how late I will be out. What is the neighborhood like and so on. Normally I only carry what the mag in the gun holds topped off. Other times I will bring a extra mag along.

Pretty much anytime I carry i have 21 rounds on me, thats 11 in the gun and 10 in the extra mag. And I do feel like it is enough for the places I frequent, now if I know im going into a really rough neighborhood I take my G22 along just for a lil extra.

If I'm just taking a quick run to the store, I'll just stick my shooter in the pocket and go. If I'm out for the day or on a short trip, I'll have 3 loaded mags +1 in the pipe. If I'm out on a long trip or going campin or hiking I'll have my regular complement load plus a 50round box just in case.

Why would you undercut your round count based on the length of the trip? A defensive encounter is a defensive encouter, regaurdless of going to the store for milk or goin on a weeks vacation.
My personal theory is Im prepared all the time no matter what or where im going. I cant pick the fight so im going to give my self as much of an advantage as possible.
I carry 15 plus one and two spare 17 round mags. for a nice round number of 50

For my 23, I keep 10 rnds in the gun, 2 extrs 10 rnd mags in a fobus mag pouch in my vehicle, then my 27 in a galco holster w/ 1 extra mag and I have 1 additional I'll wear in a single mag pouch, depending on my mood I guess. We've had an incident of some of our Air Force Cops getting shot at approaching one of the gates here at Kirtland AFB, you never know how much ammo you'll need around here. Enough is a relative term, I would say enough is when all your mags are full and with you, maybe an extra box of ammo in the glove box, HAHA

I have heard about some of the AF cops getting shot at down there. If I remember the story right it is a gang initiation or something

Nice holster and backpack... You could probably flip your backpack around and use it for bodyarmor if you ever needed to...

We're told that it's supposed to be for gang initiations, so you're 100% correct. I would think it should happen more often, guess recruitment is slow, thank goodness for the economy, HAHA. They moved all the gates to get access to the base farther back from the main roads as best they could, I think that's a deterrant as well. The incident I was referring to was a shooting at some guys not even in uniform. Not that it matters, but I think we should be allowed to carry, just on the pure fact of where we live.

I carry a full G17, too. I carry it IWB with a C-Tac. It isn't the most comfortable, but it is comforting.
I carry w a full mag +1 in the chamber. I generally also have a spare mag in a pocket. On a road trip I'll grab a handful of mags and have them in the side pouch of the driver's door.
