But you don't get the cool cutout slide. :)

Personally, I would stick with the 34 but of course, I don't have GLOCK telling me I can pick any gun I want. LOL Good luck with your decision.

pretty sure some 17L's have the cutout...

I think they still make them, but production is limited.

One of the guys I used to work with had one. To me, the 34 balances much better and is much more practical.
Rodger that.

I suspect the G17L has the cutout as it is there to relieve some weight issues for reliability purposes. I have never seen on in person though so I can confirm that. Personally, I would stick with the G34. It will give you more options. It is actually reasonable to believe you can carry it, you can shoot IDPA with it, etc.

It's your call and your gun .... but that's what I would do.

I would never carry a 34...thats just sillyness IMHO...and just like the 34, a 17L would accept all the mods a regular 17 will accept right? Cause all either gun is, is a 17 with a different slide. And the connector, slide stop and mag release which can be put on any glock. I almost feel bad for wanting to call them again...they have to be hating me by now... I bet they are going to say, if its not on our website we cant get it.

In the name of not bothering Glock again...Ill stick with the 34. err...but I might call just to see if they do in fact still produce the 17L.

Why is carrying the 34 silliness? It is the same overall length as a 1911.

I used carry IWB almost exclusively off duty. Now it's the opposite, and I carry OWB with a cover garment. The 34 makes a fine carry gun.
I'd carry almost any full size owb. But I dont have an owb rig and I usually like to wear just a tshirt on top. I did order a owb for the 34 from comptac so this winter I'll be trying owb with the 34.

the 17L is not currently made. it's been a couple years since they made it the last time. glock makes the 17L periodically at random (and in limited numbers), for some reason. who knows if they'll make it again.

It's only a half inch longer than the 17...
the 17L has a 6inch barrel, as apposed to the 17's 4.5 inch, and the 34's 5.3inch barrel.

Good choice going with Comp-tac. I use the paddle slide across the full spectrum of Glocks, but I am thinking of ordering a Comp-tac holster that will accommodate an attached TLR-1 for my G34.

I just called them again...asked for a 35 instead...that way I can have a .40, a 9 and a .357 if i wish down the road.
You're killing me. Absolutely killing me. LOL

Update: They called me back... to 35. They have zero on hand and the warranty ladt checked and zero are on the schedule to be produced. she said 6 months or more. So I said nevermind, 34 it is, and she said they have several and it should ship out early next week and also that she would make sure to speed up the process since she is the one actually handling it. She went over the shipment with me and said, "OK, so we have you down for a G34 with standard sights, is that correct?" I said, "I thought the G34 came with the adjustable sights." She said, "We can put whatever sights that you want on it, which ones would you like?" I said, "Night sights would be nice." She said, "Trijicon, or Glock brand?" She went on to say, "Glock brand are brighter and carry a 2 year longer warranty." I said, "Glock brand it is then." She said, "Ok, Ive got it in the system and Ill be personally putting my hand on this g34 to make sure its good to go."

I LOVE GLOCK.

So...G34 with night sights. JL: Im not changing my mind again...lol.
