I recently bought a Glock 43X MOS, which came installed by the USA Glock factory, a Shield RMSc red dot sight. Shield makes this sight with either a plastic or glass lens. The info from GLOCK Perfection | G43X MOS Pistol set with RMSc Shield says that this combo includes a glass optic, but that's on the European site.

Anyway, is there some non-destructive way to detect whether the optic is glass or plastic?

This issue is solved. Someone on the GlockTalk forum stated, "If you touch glass to your lip the conductivity is so much greater than plastic it will feel significantly cooler. Even though it's not actually colder."

The optic in my RDS is glass.

Isn't that like testing a 9 volt battery by putting it on your tongue ?
