been tryin for about 15 minutes here, gets about a half inch forward off the frame, and i hear a snap, and it won't go anymore. i'm holding the slide lock down the whole time.

i think that snapping noise is the recoil assembly popping out of place.

had the same prob with a g30 at the gunshop the other day.


anyone know the secret trick?

you can edit your 1st post to make an update if you like instead of 2nd post, just an option..

mag out, pull trigger, slide back a scosh, both release levers down/up(depends how it's being held), i do it upside down, remove slide.

Yeah, I had a 29 you kinda had to muscle it too

good point.

friday brainfart but them i'm retired(some say retarded) and they're all fridays.
The easy way - if you can pull the slide back and lock it into the rear position, remove the firing pin. The slide will release. HTH Dave Glock

Yea, I was surprised at how many things the Glock Armorer's Manual can teach you. Even if you can't take the course find someone who has the 2015 edition. It's in three parts - Gen 4, Early models and Slimline. The trick is finding someone who has it. ;)
