In addition; The reason for the question is because I plan on storing rice in 5 gallon, food grade buckets with gamma lids. Cheaperthandirt has a pretty good deal going on them.

A dry Gallon, a liqid gallon or an Imperial gallon?
Gallon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The densityof rice is listed as 45 lb/cubic foot. you can calculate the weight of whichever gallon you use with little effort. Alternatively, you could measure the size of the container and avoid some of the math involved in doing the conversions...

I got a hair over 30 pounds using a liquid gallon.

Sounds great. Not sure if it is liquid or solid gallon, though they are listed as "food grade". Thanks again for all the help
