I know a lot of you buy new Glocks under the LEO, GSSF, and Glock Certified Armorer plans.

How much does your FFL charge for brokering the new gun purchase? My closest, most favorite gun shop/range charges $50. That seems like a lot of money to basically hold a package until I come in and pick it up.

It sure takes a large chunk out of what would otherwise be a great deal!

yeah $50 is a rip. most of my locals charge $35-$40 which is a rip too. one is selective about who he'll ffl transfer from. won't do it from CDNN, budsgunshop, and a few others because they undersell him by so much. seems like jealousy to me, they simply get better deals on guns because they sell more. not to mention that he looses out on business because people just go to another shop.

luckily, i recently got hooked up with one that will do it for free (is a friend of a relative). wish i had money to spend lol

Luckily, I have several GSSF dealers within an hour or so driving distance and quite a few gunshops around my area. While I have never needed to transfer a gun, I understand the typical rate to be around $25.00. Volgrad is an avid shipper/seller so maybe he can chime in here soon to give you a better idea.

I have paid up to $50 in the past & don't deal with that FFL any longer because of it..
Another shop I know of charges 10% of what the gun is worth or starts @ $75..Total Rip Off..

yeah it's too bad these gunnshop owners have to be such douchebags about the FFL transfer fee. shooting is expensive enough. they don't seem to realize it drives away repeat business. oh well, their loss!

I have never had to use a FFl in transferring a gun. There is a shop about a 30 minute drive from me who participates in the LEO/Military program and thats
where I buy. However, there are several shops in the area that charge $25.00 to $30.00 to handle a transfer, but the biggest rip-off in this area is a shop
that charges $40.00, and add what they call a "Brady Fee". for handling the paperwork! $52.00. WTF! They were in the news recently for being the #1 dealer in the nation for selling guns used in crimes!

$30 in south Florida. Some can be found for $15, but I've been using the same shop for years.

Wow, that's pretty tough... I can see their point, but it sure seems ruthless... The whole FFL concept sure works in the licensed gun shop's interest.

There are lots of gun shops in this part of Florida. I'm just looking for one that will treat me fairly that I can call home. The large gun shop that is close by with an indoor range is very handy, but expensive. Most people walk in and just pay whatever price is listed for anything. I guess that's how they got to be so big...

The large gun shop that is close by with an indoor range is very handy, but expensive. Most people walk in and just pay whatever price is listed for anything. I guess that's how they got to be so big...

We have some large shops like Bass Pro Shop that charge outrageous money for guns and every time I go there, I try to let those that seem truly interested in buying, or maybe it seems like it's their first time, that there are other choices nearby that sell for considerably less.

I don't expect to find something that cheap, and I wouldn't mind paying $20 or so... But, $50 seems to be a lot to me.

$10 is a great price... Seems like there's two ways gun shops can look at this... Charge a low price and make a lot of easy money in small amounts... or, charge a large amount and try to force people to buy guns only from them (the gun shop).

I don't do that. They have a right to charge what they want. It's their business.

They have been fair with me... They gave me a good price on the 17L I bought from them... and I like shooting at their indoor range...

One of their salesman is a Glock Certified Armorer, so I'm going to ask how he handles buying Armorer or GSSF guns... I suspect they don't charge him anything because he works there. I dunno...

I'm going to go to a few other gun shops this Saturday... I'll ask around and see what they charge... I expect one of the small Mom and Pop stores to be less... Plus, there's a gun shop North of me that claims to be Glock/GSSF friendly... We'll see... I'm not in a big hurry.
