Hello everybody. Glock guy from Connecticut
Glad to be here and hope to learn a few things too. Me: LE 23 yrs, SWAT cross-trained Sniper/Entry 6 yrs, Statewide Narcotics Task Force 1 yr, Detective 7 yrs.
Even with my above than average experience I do not claim to know it all but, I know a few things. I do know that the Glock 9mm, 17/19 is most likely the best combat pistol out there. I found that out first hand while training with the team. Shooting at targets at the range vs. live fire excersises in; close quarters entry, moving while shooting, tac drills, building searches, moving up on people, vehicle assualts, narcotic/felony raids, etc.. Yes, we used S.I.M.S training too but, nothing teaches you and makes you trust your other team members more than the real thing. Thanks again.

Yes, I was lucky to have some good opportunities along the way. My father was a police officer too and pushed me in that direction back in the late 80's. I was 21 years old and happy working construction with my friends when he gave me the ole, "what are you going to do for the rest of your life" speech. Glad he did! He retired in 87 and I started whith the the PD the next town over in 88. My dad although never a gun guy (he still has his original duty sidearm, a Smith & Wesson model 15 and a Detective Special from when he was in plain clothes) was a very good cop. That motivated me.
