The Palm Beach Gun Show opened today. And, as it would be, I needed a new concealment pistol. I sold my XDSC a couple of days ago, so I had some money burnin' a hole in my pocket.

I had my sights set on either a Walther PPS or a Glock 26. I was hoping to find a used pistol, but there wasn't one to be found. None. And, it's a pretty good sized show.

In Palm Beach, you can buy from a private citizen (non-ffl) on the floor, so I kept looking for a familiar case being carried. Again, none to be found. The new PPS's are expensive and the least expensive one was $575 (plus tax, plus background check).

While I liked the PPS because of its thinness, I trust a "Glock" more and would have more confindence in a G26.

The Glock was looking better and better. The average price for a new G26 was $499 and I actually found two for $479. I used that price with another dealer and he sold me a new G26 for $469.

A few mods later, and it's ready to go......

Congrats on the 26. I love mine. I'll tell ya tho... It would be better to learn to shoot it without that grip extension because those can print pretty badly if you ccw iwb in the small of your back. It's even worse if you ccw at 4 o'clock. Get yourself some talon grips and it will become a breeze to shoot with nowhere for your pinky.

Congrats on a fine purchase. I have a G26 and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The situation that really got me is the shortage of used G26s in South Florida. I had checked the local gun-sale site and there was nothing. It did show that people are very misinformed as to what used guns are worth. Many guns are listed above retail. That makes me suspect a lack of knowledge or that they are catering to those who may not be able to buy a new pistol through a dealer. In any case, finding a used G26 is like finding a needle in a haystack. At the Gun Show, one dealer's answer was, "No G26s, but I have a bunch of used G22s. G26s don't come back." I guess that's a good thing.

Excellent choice. I wish I could find one for $469 + tax face to face. Cheapest we have around here is $550. Then again I don't go to gun shows.

I lucked out and got mine used for $400 almost 2 years ago, it's just as used now as a new one would be by now. I take it everywhere I go.

Congrats on the G26, I picked one up last weekend for 399.00 brand new, but it was Blue Label. We have found a gold mine for guns here in Albuquerque, no need to purchase from the high priced dealers. Although I did for my Glock 20, paid about 60.00 more for it.

Your are absolutely right! I looked at a G26 in a pawn shop in NC on Saturday. It's the only used one I have seen. The price: $599! NO WAY.
