Is $6.99 good for 20 rounds of Speer Lawman 5.56? What do brands do ya'll usually use and what's a good price?

So far, the .223 I've seen isn't any cheaper than 5.56. The only stuff I could find for less was Tula, Wolf, Brown Bear, and Silver Bear. I won't shoot that stuff in my Glocks and don't know if it's OK for ARs.

OK, found Palmetto State Armory and some PMC and Federal for under $6.99.

yeah that's not bad. some places will have federal american eagle for $5.99. that's usually the brand i find the cheapest. cabelas had it for $5.99 the other day, if you have one near you.

UMC is not something i'm willing to purchase again. way too many uncrimped rounds, duds, and squib loads over the years. i don't buy russian ammo either. rather spend an extra buck on some quality stuff.

Melissa,

Another place you might want to start checking out is Dixie Ammo Dump in Hoschton. I've dealt with these guys for quite some time now and they are good to go. They carry pistols, rifles, ammo in small quantity as well as bulk, parts, Class III stuff, etc.. They have a store with a good amount of in stock weapons but can order anything. One thing I really like when they order is it's there within 2 - 3 days. I remember trying to order a GLOCK from another location due to the GSSF program and they wanted 4 - 6 weeks. I went to the Ammo Dump and they had it fore me in 2 days. It was the G19c I wanted. They had several new G19 in stock. I have bought ammo from them in bulk and countless firearms, including my AR-15 which I bought as a kit and they helped me put it together. Good guys.
