The GLOCK carbine is sort of like Bigfoot, the Lock Ness monster, and a drug-free Li-Lo ... often talked about but never actually seen. Many people believe in it but there is no hard evidence of any of these thing existing.

Now, I have "heard" the same rumors but haven't seen pictures, documents, or an actual timeline every once released or leaked from anyone associated with GLOCK or any or their industry friends.

I have every confidence it will happen someday. Will it happen next year? Only time will tell.

Didn't Glock in Smyrna recently build a range for longer distances than you would normally use for a pistol? Or did I just dream that?

You did not dream that. I can't recall how long the range is but I concur with TheLaw on what GLOCK is claiming it will be used for.
