they covered this conversion on an episode of defensive handguns. the muzzle flip is pretty severe (on the converted g21 they tested).

also, if you google ballistic tests on 50GI JHP rounds--it only penetrates 6-7 inches of bare ballistic gelatin. the hollowpoint cavity is so large it expands immediately. hardly adequate penetration. the 50GI FMJ was no better than a 45acp FMJ costing 1/3 as much.

i'd leave this expensive conversion, and it's obscenely prices ammo for those who have money to burn, and nothing better to do.

I have been eyeing the 50GI conversion for about a year now. Two things have stopped me from pulling the trigger so to speak. The cost is more than I would have thought & the ammo is manufacturer specific. You have to buy the ammo from GI. They also will sell you the dyes & the cases to load it yourself, but the ammo isn't available out on the market. I just don't like the idea of having to buy the ammo from the gun manufacturer exclusively.

I've seen it but the 500mag and the 50AE are plenty of the 50 cal pistols for me
