Look at the rear of the spring plate. On the new springs there is a 02 on it. On the older ones there is not.
no problemThank you!
I appreciate it...
Aw Gee fellas thankssfguard,
You sir are off to a great start. I look forward to your posts
Is it possible to tell if a new gen 4 Glock 17 has the 02 spring without taking it apart? Will it say on the box? I don't suppose a gun shop will take it apart and let you look at the spring before you buy it.
If I were to buy a 4th gen and it turned out to have the original spring, would it be possible to get a new 02 spring assembly from Glock to replace it?
Yes you can contact Glock in Georgia and they will send you a 02 spring if you need one. Last time I checked they were doing this free of charge. Is it possible to tell if a new gen 4 Glock 17 has the 02 spring without taking it apart? Will it say on the box? are they just doing it with gen 4's?Yes you can contact Glock in Georgia and they will send you a 02 spring if you need one. Last time I checked they were doing this free of charge.
The 02 springs will only fit in the Gen 4 guns. If something is wrong with the spring in your Gen 3 you can contact them but will probably have to buy a new one.are they just doing it with gen 4's?
I went by the gun shop today and no one had heard of the version 02 guide rod springs. They did tear down the G17 in the display case and it did not have the 02 spring.I wouldn't buy a new or used Glock without field stripping it at the store... if they don't let you look at it go somewhere else IMO.
Good to know, thanks.Yes you can contact Glock in Georgia and they will send you a 02 spring if you need one. Last time I checked they were doing this free of charge.
That's good feedback, thanks! To get an 0-2 spring all you have to do is call Glock and they will mail one to you free of charge.
Just have the serial # on the Glock available.
I had significant problems with the original spring, I wouldn't buy one that didn't come with the 0-2 version.
