I had one of the first G30's that I could find when they came out, and as MtStream above said, it is a Gen 3 lower with no rail. I found this pic on the interweb.

 
That is a better pic than the one I found, but my G30 I had had the textured finger grooves and no rail, while the G27 I had had the smooth grooves like your pic. Weird that Glock would do that.
 
I believe you are right, MtStream.
However, Glock has always kept tweaking the internals, striving for what they believed was perfection, but always in an attempt to make their pistols safer for the end user. Boomer made a great thread about the history and evolution of the Glock, and some other people added good knowledge to it. it's in the sticky's under Glock History and Evolution. Great read!
I think it would be cool to have a collection of all the different "Gens". My Glock Grail guns are a Gen 1 G17, and the G21 with the full Picatinny rail and the ambi mag release. I have never seen one of either in person. Some of the guys here have Gen 1's, some have the RTF2 pistols with the "fish gill" slide serrations. All are equally cool. :)
