I decided that I would like to get the G30 as my first Glock and was wondering what are some things I should look for when buying one, are some parts better or worse than others that are numbered? I read that some have different springs and want to make sure that I get the most trouble free gun as possible.
Also are the Gen 3 G30's the newest ones out there?

yep gen3 g30's are the newest ones out there. i would suggest going with the non-sf one just because a minority of the "SF" models have reliability issues. i've encountered this shooting my buddie's g30sf the other day. if you google "glock 30sf problems", you'll find plenty of reading material. most certainly function fine and folks are happy with them, but it happens enough to make me not want to try my luck with one. (my luck's been pretty crappy lately lol)

other than that, any serial number g30 NIB will be fine. :)

Basically all you need to look for is the best price..lol my Gen3 G30 has never given me the slightest trouble. I've only got about 500 rounds through it since installing the Lasermax but still trouble free.

Pretty much like the rest of the guys, my G30SF is a fine shooter, no problems with over 500 rounds down range. For a small 45 ACP, it's easily controllable, a soft recoil for its size and caliber and my wife loves shooting it almost as much as I do.
