I have read about owners having problems with the ambidextrous magazine release on G21SF pistols. I have fired approximately 500 rounds through mine and I haven't experienced a problem as yet.

I want to round off my trigger guard (just because) but I'm worried that soon after, the mag-release will fall out and my warranty will be voided because of the alteration.

I was wondering if I should just send it back to Glock now and ask for the updated one-sided magazine release. Opinions?

Is this the same mag release that comes in the new 4th generations Glocks that you're talking about?

I purchased a 21sf last year. It has the ambi mag release on it. I have a problem when I insert a full mag. If I want to release it full & push the mag release it sticks open. Reinserting the mag really hard releases the stuck lever. I haven't called Glock yet because it isn't really that much of a problem, but I just might get the frame changed out anyway.

The recommended test is to load up a full magazine. NONE IN THE TUBE! Load the magazine in to the pistol. Now, press the magazine release. If the full magazine falls out with no apparent problems, the pistol should be OK. When I tried it, my ambi mag catch fell out of the pistol. I sent the pistol back to Glock a couple of weeks ago. They will be sending me a new pistol.... not just a new lower, but an entire new pistol with matching numbers. So far, I am very pleased with Glock's Technical Services and their response. I will let you know when I get the new G21SF.
