G21 - Newby

Recently got my first Glock, a 19. I am now a believer and am interested in a 45. Not for carry, but for general use on the ranch, etc. Any comments on the 21?

Welcome and congrats on the 19. Sorry I can not comment on the 21, but glad you are here
Not necessarily a negative comment but the GLOCK 21 is HUGE. I believe I have average size man hands, and I can't properly grip the G21. It was because of this fact that I actually did not purchase GLOCKS awhile ago and instead bought Springfield XDs 45s. A friend of mine then introduced me the GLOCK 38, which is the 45 GAP version. Different than the 45 ACP in size but basically identical in ballistics, the G38 has the exact same size frame as the G19, with the power of the 45. Best of both worlds in my opinion. It's also surprisingly easy to shoot and has very little recoil.
good gun. i used to have the g21 SF picatinny model. it is a big gun, but i have small hands and had no issues :)
I have the G30 and have relativly small hands, but it poses no problem, the thickness of the G30 helps in taming recoil.

but the 21SF is smaller than the standard 21 correct?
but the 21SF is smaller than the standard 21 correct?
by only 3mm's, correct :) but i have the non-SF g29 and shoot it better than my g19, and my hands really are small lol
go 2 your local gunshop and ask for the gock 21 in a regular and 21sf model. trust me you will like the 21sf better . one of thee best .45`s on the market .then later down the road you can always pick up its lil brother the glock 30sf for outside the ranch purpose .
