Just purchased a new Glock 19.
Was wondering if I was to keep the 15 rd magazine loaded for a year or 2 would the magazine spring be compromised.
Coming from a revolver to auto is new to me.
Thanks
Tony
Thanks for answering so quickly.
This would be my carry magazine loaded with personal protection rds. So I won't be loading and unloading it much.
I'll carry with 1 chambered rd and 14 in clip, so magazine spring won't be totally stressed.
Like I said I'm used to a 38 spl revolver..don't matter how long its loaded it'll still fire.
Thanks for the reply...
Tony
Ya Tony. It's is completely alright. Compressed springs will not weaken or wear out. What causes springs to weaken and wear out, is when there are cycled (ie. compressed then expanded, then compressed and expanded again, over and over, etc.) So magazine springs with heavy use will eventually break in, loosen up, and wear out. But having them loaded for prolonged amounts of time (years) is not a factor.
