Already been said but I will add. Nope, cause the barrel won't fit. Not too mention the extractor and such. Although maybe with a big enough hammer......Oh wait, nope won't fit sorry

Yes it can be done. But, before I say that it can be done safely I have to ask how many pin is your G26? If it is a two pin (original design for 9mm) it will be ok for awhile but eventually disaster will strike. If it is a three pin like a lot of the newer ones (guess it just made everything easier only having the one frame style) then it is ok because that was designed for 40.

Can a G26 be made to shoot .40?

you can't make a 26 do anything it doesn't want too. :p

and buy the time you spend the money on parts to do so ... you could pick up a 27 and have two guns.

It can do it then. But like Tailhunter was saying by the time you purchase a new slide, barrel, channel liner, striker, striker spring, cups, back plate, plunger, sights, recoil rod, mags....you get the idea.

What everyone else said above, plus my .02. Just get yourself a 27 and you'll be a happy camper. That way your 26 will have a cousin to go bang bang with.:)

How is this different than a Glock 17 and 22 ? I put a Glock 22 (.40 cal) barrel in a Glock 17 (9mm) slide and it works just fine (poly 80 lower) . I don’t get why this would be different . And the reason I bought the g17 slide is because there are sooooooooo many better slides for the g17 available than the g22 which there are not a ton . But again the out diameter of the g17 barrel is identical to the outer diameter barrel of the g22. So I don’t see how the g26 and g 27 would be different

You didn't put a 22 barrel in a 17 slide. You could have put a 17 barrel in a 22 slide, but it'd rattle around at the muzzle.

The 22 can be converted to 9mm with a conversation barrel (larger diameter to fill the excess space) but as Walter said, a 22 barrel can’t fit a G17

Glock 17 = 14.488mm
Glock 22 = 14.983mm
