Brought the 38 home today!!!

I arrived at the gun shop 30 minutes before it opened today, I could not wait until I brought it home. I was not disappointed at all!!!. I can't explain it, but there is something special about the 38. As I was filling out the paperwork, I couldn't help thinking there are a lot of people missing out on this firearm. Any way, I picked up a few extra mags and several hundred rounds and stopped by the range in the rain to try it out. This is not an exaggeration, this has to be the most accurate, smoothest shooting Glock I have ever owned!!!! In a down pour, I managed a sub two inch group at 15 yards!!! As soon as I figure out how to download pictures from my desk top, I'll post some.

Awesome. I agree, there are many people that are missing out. It's a fantastic firearm!
While I am not a fan of the GAP I must admit I have never shot one. I don't even know anyone that has one. I am glad you like yours. I know several on the net that have them and like them. I would however, like to try one someday. I just can't find someone that has one.

You have to be careful....once you go GAP, you never go back. ;)
So I quickly went to the Glock website...thinking it was a .38!

I know, I am a bit green. What is the difference between a .45 Auto and .45 GAP?
Thanks

Exactly right.

The GAP is a shorter casing so that it can be fired in a 9mm sized frame with a double stack magazine. The G37 has the exact same sized grip as the 17. It carries 10+1 rounds of .45 GAP.
Congrats and enjoy it. I'll stick to my 9mms due to cost of ammo and I can get 9mm anywhere.

Out of the three gun shops in my area that I trust, two of them carry the GAP. If I drive for 45 min, I can get 45GAP for about $3 less than I pay for .40 S&W. I'm not saying its like that everywhere, but, I thought the same thing and found for me that it wasn't the case.
In my area the round is starting to catch on, when I picked up my G38, there were two different people buying GAPS. I made a comment to the owner and he told me he went from selling one GAP a month to selling one a week on average.
