thats going to come down to many factors. will you need to conceal it? prior handgun experience? price range? also what size your looking for (9mm, .40, .45, etc)? once you have narrowed down some things, the best thing to do is to go to the range and actually shoot a few models.

Welcome to the forum. If they are available in your area, I would try to go to a range that will let you rent a firearm to see how it shoots first. Good luck.

hello everyone, from chagrin falls, ohio going to buy my first glock soon, for home defense and range. like the full size models. any suggestions for my first model ? thanx
I like the full size models, too...

I have a 4th generation Glock 17... It's a full size Glock that shoots 9mm ammunition... It's a nice gun to shoot... good for home defense... not as easy to carry as some... 9mm ammo is pretty cheap and plentiful... Good Glock to start with.

Well, you like the 40, and you like the full size. The choice seems obvious to me the G22. It is the Glock full size 40

Welcome to the forum bigdog. I have a 22 that I've had almosts a year now and never had any issues with it.
Like sfguard said, If you want a full size .40 cal Glock, the 22 is it. It's not a good handgun to CC and ammo
most ofter more expensive than the 9mm's. TheLaw had some good advice about trying a rental gun at a range,
if you have one in your area. Without a large investment your can try several models in one trip to the range.
Good luck!

Welcome. I know you said you wanted a full size Glock, but I would go with either the 19 or 23. That frame size has to be the best ever. You never know when you might wanna conceal it, and they are PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or get a full size and a compact as well, LOL.
