I got another major solid from GT Distributors today. I was in looking at G41s and started talking with the guy behind the counter about the Glocks I own. He asked about .45GAP and I told him I'd gotten a G37 for $280 but it looked like shooting it would be a rare event due to the price of .45GAP ammo. They had some on the shelf but it was over $30/box for FMJ.

He asked if I needed any self defense as they had some Gold Dot in back. I said "no thanks, I'm not going to use a gun for SD I can't afford to practice with." He decided to check the price because "it was a trade in from a local LE department and it's been back there awhile."

"How about $9.50 a box?"

My mouth fell open, I asked if they were 20rd boxes but nope, 50! They had two cases (2k rounds). I decided to take one but by the time I got to my truck I had them both. It seems almost sacrilegious to use Gold Dot for plinking rounds but they cost me less than 9mm!

Hell of a nice guy to sell them to you at that price. As you inferred, he could easily have sold it st 2 to 3x that price.

Great score.

It is beautiful here on the coast since yesterday.

I have the kitchen window up to take advantage of the North breeze, humidity is down but it is still hot in the daytime, a/c is still on !

I wouldn't use it for plinking. I'd stuff it way back in the far corner of my gun room and save it. If you haven't already, get into reloading.

I dont have anyone to hang out with and learn reloading from. I'm also afraid it wont be something I enjoy doing with my time, so I'm hesitant to spend the money on equipment/supplies to find out.

We'll see, the cost on quality .308 keeps me thinking about it.

I find reloading to be relaxing, challenging and therapeutic. It takes my mind off of a multitude of things. It's worth the time.

I reload the GAP, but I’m not licensed to do it for anyone else if that’s what you’re asking. I don’t care to jump through the ATF requirement licensing and insurance liability hoops.
